Securities Processing Centres perfect, maintain and release security which has been taken as a secondary form of repayment for the Bank in the event of a Customer defaulting on the prime source of repayment of a credit facility. A smartmortgage team specifically deals with the perfection, release and maintenance of security for the company’s smart mortgage product.There is a heavy reliance upon security being properly completed and legally enforceable in order to protect the Bank from losses. This requires a higher level of technical knowledge than is typically required of processing centre staff. The training programme to support this is built around accreditation in various modules backed by a central Quality Control Team, which checks all work prior to accreditation and samples the work of accredited processors.
